How do we support families?

We understand that support doesn’t just mean for the individual requiring care, but extends to support for the whole family. At Brighter Living Care we assist families right from the beginning. Finding the appropriate support can be daunting—where does one even begin? Questions like recognising good support or understanding the difference between supported living and residential care, along with their respective benefits, are common; many families share these thoughts as they begin the journey to find support for their loved ones. Fortunately, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. An understanding of the importance of finding the right home and environment to enable independence really drives us to work collaboratively with the family as a whole to identify and source the right setting.

Our support explores all available options, weighing the pros and cons of supported living versus residential care. Our experienced team has aided numerous families and individuals in transitioning from residential school settings, residential care, or even family homes into their personalised supported living spaces.

From initial assessments to transition planning and the first step into a new home, we ensure ongoing support to achieve the best outcomes for our clients (refer to the linked diagram for an overview of the steps we support along the way).

Through adopting a holistic approach to person-centered care, valuing family input as a crucial element in building a comprehensive understanding of each individual we support.
